To build an effective personal brand you need to start positioning yourself. Positioning is presenting yourself to the right person, at the right time and place, in the right way, with the right message.

Expand your expertise - you need to build and establish your audience or tribe who can help spread your voice. Whether it's guest speaking at events or being visible on social platforms you need to take your message to a far wider reach if you only have a local audience... think national and then global.
